SUMMARY:Everyday Mentoring® Workshop with Dwayne Bennett
DESCRIPTION:Register here. \nAt MENTOR Virginia\, we believe that everyone has the power to make a mentoring difference in the lives of the young people in their lives. Our Everyday Mentoring® training centers the importance of relationships in helping youth become their best selves and succeed in their endeavors. Designed for youth-serving organizations that would like to build stronger adult-youth ties\, as well as any community members who want to be more intentional in their interactions with youth\, this training highlights what it means to be a mentor in a nontraditional way and how to maximize the impact of your connections with youth no matter how brief the interaction. \nAt this training\, you’ll learn what it means to be a mentor\, how to improve your listening skills\, how to help youth through challenges\, how to build relationships with struggling students\, and more. You’ll walk away with proven strategies for success that you can use to increase your positive impact on youth in every setting. \nMENTOR Virginia creates a lively atmosphere of learning and engages participants in interactive activities. Our goal is to have a minimum of 8 participants at each training session\, so consider bringing a friend\, colleague\, or sharing this training event with others interested in becoming a mentor. \nNote for Mentoring Programs: Mentoring programs can send up to three mentors from their program per month to one of our Everyday Mentoring® trainings at no cost. If your program needs to train a larger number of mentors\, please email sarah@archive.mentorva.org for options. \nPlease consider donating to support our work of empowering\, elevating\, and encouraging young people: https://archive.mentorva.org/donate/ \nRegister here.
