January Community Coffee Hour: Marketing, Social Media, and Branding for Mentoring Programs

Grab your coffee or tea, and join your mentoring program peers and MENTOR Virginia on Wednesday, January 11 from 9:00 – 10:00 am for Community Coffee Hour. We’ll be joined by Nick Williams, Associate Director of Student Engagement at VCU School of Business, and Jacqueline Woodbridge, Editorial and Media Relations Manager for the Office of Communications and Public Information in the City of Alexandria, for a discussion on marketing, social media, and branding strategies for mentoring programs.

MENTOR Virginia will virtually host Community Coffee Hour every 2nd Wednesday of the month with mentoring program staff to create space for peer-to-peer learning and resource sharing, and to address issues you and your organization might be facing during the pandemic and beyond. Meet Our Guest Speakers:

Nick Williams is the current Assistant Director of Student Engagement at VCU’s School of Business. Through his role he also serves as the Director of the Business Mentoring Program at VCU where he connects current VCU students with faculty, staff, alumni and local business partners within a mentoring partnership. Nick is also a doctoral candidate in VCU’s Education Leadership Ed.D program and an adjunct professor teaching a freshman course called “Principles of Professional Development: Men of Color”. Having attended the University of Virginia (UVa) for his bachelors and masters degrees, Nick aspires to become the president of a university. Outside of his work at VCU, Nick is also an entrepreneur running four different businesses to include: Culinaire Creations, Black Kings Connect Podcast, Williams Xperience Marketing & Designs, and Legacy Leaf Publishing. Nick also serves on the Alumni Association Board at his High School, St. Stephens & St. Agnes School as well as serves on the Young Alumni Council for the UVa.

Jacqueline Woodbridge has worked in and around Virginia government since 2014, getting her start in electoral campaigns. She has had the opportunity to work for members of the Virginia House of Delegates and Senate in both official and political roles, most recently as the Communications Director for the Virginia Senate Democratic Caucus. She has also advised political campaigns and elected officials across the country on communications strategies and tactics through both paid and earned media. Before attending the University of North Georgia, Jacqueline was a professional ballerina with Columbia City Ballet in South Carolina. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, baking, riding bicycles, and spending quality time with her family.
