Collaborative Mentoring Webinar Series: Mentee-Approved Strategies for Address

August 24, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

When mentees are facing difficulty or want to talk about delicate issues, mentors and program staff can feel challenged to show up in a nurturing and helpful manner. These moments can have a great impact on the relationship and a young person’s future, for better or worse. Young people themselves have a great deal to say about what they want from adults at these junctures, and their thoughts can help to demystify the process of offering support.

Join mentoring expert Dustianne North (California Mentoring Partnership) for a moderated panel featuring Julia Pryce (Loyola University Chicago School of Social Work), mentoring scholar and co-developer of the Mentoring FAN model (in collaboration with Linda Gilkerson), which is based on observations of mentor-mentee dyads and provides a roadmap for adults in conversation with youth when difficult issues are at hand. Two young adult leaders (announced soon) will also join us to offer additional reflections and strategies.
